About Aishwarya

Aishwarya Manikarnike

‘A’-Grade Veena Artist (AIR) | Vidwat Antima Rank-Holding Vocalist

Rejoicing in the majesty of the Saraswati Veena and the brilliance of Carnatic vocals, Aishwarya Manikarnike is a multifaceted artiste representing the third generation of a distinguished musical lineage. Nurtured from a tender age by a family of celebrated musicians, she has spent over a decade establishing herself as a prolific Vainika and Vocalist, bridging traditional roots with a contemporary professional career as a Data Engineer.

Musical Lineage & Training

Aishwarya’s foundation was laid under the rigorous tutelage of her grandmother, Karnataka Kalashree Veena Vid. Smt. M. K. Saraswathi (A-Top Grade, AIR), known for her mastery of the Gayaki style. Her training has been further enriched by her mother, Vid. Smt. Rajyashree Josyer Shrikanth (A-Grade, AIR), and her uncle, violinist Vid. G. Venkatesha Josyer. Currently, she continues her vocal advanced training under the esteemed Sangeetha Kalarathna Vid. M. S. Sheela, while also receiving guidance from mridangist Gaanakala Vid. H. S. Sudhindra and exploring Hindustani vocals under Smt. Geetha Hegde.

Technical Excellence & Accolades

Aishwarya is a rare talent who holds high-level credentials in both voice and instrument. A milestone in her career was her 2024 elevation to ‘A’-Grade in Veena by All India Radio, following a series of national competition wins. Her academic prowess is equally notable; she secured the 3rd Rank at the State level in the Vidwat Antima examinations. Her contributions have been recognized with several prestigious awards, including:

  • Best Instrumentalist – The Madras Music Academy (Spirit of Youth)
  • Raga Laya Prabha Award – Sri Rama Lalitha Kala Mandira, Bengaluru
  • SAMA Yuva Puraskara – SAMA Arts Foundation
  • CCRT Scholarships – Awarded by the Indian Ministry of Culture (Junior and Young Artiste schemes)

Performance Highlights

Aishwarya’s performance career is highlighted by a historic appearance at the Rashtrapati Bhavan on Republic Day 2025, performing in the presence of the President and Prime Minister of India. As a soloist and a member of a unique Three-Generation Veena Trio alongside her mother and grandmother, she has graced premier stages including the Music Academy Chennai (HCL Series), Bangalore Gayana Samaja, Udupi Sri Krishna Temple, and TTD Nadaneerajanam.

A specialist in the complex Ragam-Tanam-Pallavi (RTP) form, she has won top honors at the Bangalore Gayana Samaja and SRLKM Pallavi Sammela, where she is acclaimed for presenting intricate Pallavis in challenging talas and scales.

Artistry & Vision

Whether through the resonant strings of the Saraswati Veena or her "sparkling" vocal delivery, Aishwarya’s music is a testament to a lifetime of devotion. By balancing her career in technology with her classical pursuits, she aspires to preserve and carry forward the vast treasure of Carnatic Classical art for generations to come.
